Let’s take a second and get back to basics: There are some fundamental good gardening practices that should also be implemented with your Farmstand. If you’re growing outdoors, you should be mindful of your Farmstand’s location for many reasons - beyond just sunlight.

Pull any weeds that may pop up around your Farmstand - it’ll help eliminate a breeding area for aphids. Try to limit puddles as much as possible. Standing water often leads to algae growth, which can be a food source for pests.

As always, we also strongly recommend staying on top of your quarterly resets! Be sure to change out your water reservoir every 2-3 months, which will prevent salt build and maintain good oxygen levels in your nutrient solution.

Keeping your equipment in good, clean conditions is a vital part of staying ahead of disease pressure. Too much nutrient buildup inside the reservoir can affect your water’s nutrition balance, which in turn slows down growth causing plants to spend more time growing in your Farmstand. If these plants aren’t regularly scouted, their older leaves become more susceptible to pest populations. Seeing a pattern here?
